If You Want Me To

Lately I've been stressed over some situations. Some big decisions have been put on mine & Cory's plate and mixed with end of the year school matters I have had some knots in my stomach. Maybe soon I'll go into details with my concerns but for now I'm keeping it light since I just started my summer vacation. :) This morning on my way to school I popped in a mixed CD with some Christian music on it. My CD player is set to shuffle songs so the first song that played was not #1. The song it chose was #5 and couldn't have been a better song to start my day. It's a song by Ginny Owens and it's called "If You Want Me To". If you haven't heard it before you should give it a listen. It's just vocals & a piano, which I tend to really like. I've sang this song along with my CD many times before but today as I sang with it the words became my prayer and brought me such a peace. Here's the lyrics if you want to read them. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

The pathway is broken
And the signs are unclear
And I don't know the reason why You brought me here
But just because You love me the way that You do
I'm gonna walk through the valley
If You want me to

Cause I'm not who I was
When I took my first step
And I'm clinging to the promise You're not through with me yet
so if all of these trials bring me closer to You
Then I will walk through the fire
If You want me to

It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that's not my home
But You never said it would be easy
You only said I'd never go alone

So when the whole world turns against me
And I'm all by myself
And I can't hear You answer my cries for help
I'll remember the suffering that Your love put You through
And I will walk through the darkness
If You want me to

Because when I cross over Jordan
Gonna sing, gonna shout,
Gonna look into Your eyes and see You never let me down
So take me on the pathway that leads me home to You
And I will walk though the valley
If You want me to

Yes, I will walk through the valley
If You want me to
